This page explains, in plain language, what information TeachOS holds about you, who can see it and what you can do about it. It describes what the platform actually does today.

Questions, corrections or deletion requests: support@teachosnigeria.com.

1. Who we are

TeachOS is operated by Ridgeview Innovations Hub Ltd (“Ridgeview”, “we”). TeachOS helps Nigerian teachers write lesson notes, assessments and schemes of work with AI, and gives schools a workspace for attendance, results, messaging and related records.

2. What we collect

Your account

  • Your name, email address and password. Sign-in is handled by our database provider (Supabase); TeachOS’s own code never stores your password.
  • What you tell us when you sign up: whether you are a teacher or a school administrator, your school’s name, type and state, and the subjects and classes you teach.
  • A phone number, if you add one to your profile.

Your school membership

  • Which school you belong to, your role (teacher or admin), whether your membership is active, when you joined and when you were last active in TeachOS.

What you create

  • Lesson notes, assessments and schemes of work you generate or save, including edits, review status and feedback from your school.
  • Your conversations with the TeachOS AI assistant.

Records a school enters

  • Students: name, admission number, gender, class, and a parent or guardian’s name and phone number.
  • Attendance: present, absent or late for each student and date, and who marked it.
  • Results: continuous-assessment and exam scores, totals, grades, remarks and report-card comments.
  • Discipline reports: the student, date, place, type and seriousness of the incident, what happened, witnesses, action taken, the outcome and comments from staff.
  • Messages a school sends to a parent or guardian from TeachOS: the phone number, the text, the channel (SMS or WhatsApp) and who sent it.

Teacher verification (only if your school switches it on)

  • A professional profile: phone number, subjects, classes, years of experience, highest qualification, institution and certifications.
  • Documents you choose to upload or your school asks for, such as a degree certificate, teaching qualification, professional certificate or identification.
  • Your attempts at the verification assessment and their scores, and the school admin’s decision and note.

Communication inside a school

  • Staff messages and the files attached to them, announcements, and who has seen or acknowledged them.
  • Call records: who called whom, voice or video, when, and for how long. Meetings: title, agenda, who was invited, replies, who attended and for how long, and any minutes saved.
  • TeachOS does not record the audio or video of calls and meetings.

Payments

  • The plan, amount, date, status and Paystack reference of a payment. We never see or store card details (see Payments).

Usage records

  • When certain things happen we record one line: what happened, which account, which school and when. Examples: an account was created, a session started, a lesson note was generated or submitted, a message was sent, a call started, attendance was recorded, a payment succeeded or failed.
  • A line may carry a few short values such as the subject, class level, term, week, a count or the plan. It does not contain message text, document contents, student names, phone numbers or files.
  • We also keep one line per day that you had TeachOS open, and how many AI generations you have used this month (to apply the Free plan’s allowance).

On your device

  • A sign-in session, kept in your browser so you stay signed in.
  • Small settings in your browser’s storage, for example that you dismissed the “install the app” banner.
  • If you turn on notifications, the push address your browser gives us so we can reach that device.
  • TeachOS has no advertising, and its code contains no advertising or third-party tracking scripts.

3. How we use it

  • To run the service: sign you in, generate and save your documents, and show a school its own records.
  • To apply plans: count the Free plan’s monthly allowance and know whether a paid plan is active.
  • To let a school manage its staff and students: registers, results, report cards, discipline, review of lesson notes, announcements, messaging and meetings.
  • To notify you about messages, calls, announcements and meetings, if you have turned notifications on.
  • To understand how TeachOS is used and improve it, using the usage records described above.
  • To answer you when you contact us, and to keep the service secure.

4. Who can see what

You

You can see and edit your own profile, lesson notes, assessments, schemes of work and assistant conversations.

If you join a school: that school’s admins

  • Your name, email address, phone number (if you added one), role, status and when you were last active.
  • The lesson notes and assessments saved in your TeachOS account, including ones you have not submitted for review, once you are an accepted member of staff. While your application to a school is still pending or was not approved, they stay private to you.
  • Registers you marked, scores you entered, discipline reports you filed, the meetings you attended and how many messages you have sent.
  • Your verification profile, documents and assessment scores, if the school uses verification.
  • School admins see every student record, register, result and discipline report in their own school.

Teachers in the same school

  • The staff list, the school’s classes and the students in them, as needed for registers, results and discipline reports.
  • Announcements addressed to them, and conversations they are part of. A private or group conversation can be read only by the people in it.
  • A teacher sees only the discipline reports they filed themselves.

Other schools

One school cannot see another school’s staff, students, records or messages.

The TeachOS team at Ridgeview

  • Ridgeview’s platform administrators have a dashboard that is mostly counts: how many teachers, students, lesson notes, messages and payments there are, per school and overall, plus the usage records described above. It also lists, and can export, the name, email address, school and role of each account, each account’s plan and payments, and the title, subject and class of lesson notes and assessments with their author’s name. It does not show the text of a lesson note, assessment or message, student records, or the documents teachers upload for verification.
  • As the operator of the service, Ridgeview also has technical access to the database, which is used to run, support and fix TeachOS.

5. Companies that help us run TeachOS

We use other companies to provide parts of the service. Each receives only what it needs for its part.

  • Supabase: the database, sign-in, file storage and live updates. Everything TeachOS stores is held there.
  • Anthropic (the maker of the Claude AI model): the text needed to write for you. For a lesson note that is the subject, class, term, week, topic, sub-topics, lesson length and class size. For an assessment or scheme of work it is the subject, class, term, topics and the kind and number of questions. For the AI assistant it is the messages you type in that conversation. Your name and your school’s name are not part of a lesson-note request. Please do not type students’ names or other personal details into a topic box or the assistant.
  • Paystack: your email address, the plan and the amount, to take a payment. You enter your card or bank details on Paystack’s own page.
  • Vercel: hosts the TeachOS website, so your requests pass through its servers.
  • Your browser’s or phone’s push service (run by companies such as Google, Apple or Mozilla): the title and short text of a notification, if you turned notifications on.
  • Termii: a parent or guardian’s phone number and the message text, only when a school sends an SMS from TeachOS and SMS is switched on. A WhatsApp message is sent from the sender’s own WhatsApp; TeachOS only keeps a log of it.
  • Calls and meetings: audio and video normally travel directly between the participants’ devices. Setting up the connection uses Google’s public connection servers, and where a direct connection is not possible, or for larger meetings, the audio and video may pass through a relay or media server run by another provider.
  • Google Fonts: your browser fetches the fonts TeachOS uses from Google.

Some of these companies may store or process data outside Nigeria.

6. Payments

  • A paid plan is a single payment through Paystack that lasts 30 days. There is no automatic renewal.
  • TeachOS never sees or stores your card details, and does not keep your card on file to charge it again.
  • We keep a record of each payment (plan, amount, date, status and Paystack reference) so that your plan can be switched on and for our accounts.
  • When the 30 days end, your account returns to the Free plan. Nothing you created is deleted.

The full payment terms are on the Terms page.

7. Schools, students and parents

Students and parents do not have TeachOS accounts. Their information is entered by the school, and the school decides what to record and who on its staff may use TeachOS.

  • A school that uses TeachOS is responsible for having the right to enter its students’ and parents’ information, for telling parents and guardians how it is used, and for keeping it accurate.
  • Ridgeview stores and processes those records for the school so that the school can use TeachOS.
  • If you are a parent, guardian or student and want to see, correct or remove information a school has entered, please ask the school first. You can also write to us at support@teachosnigeria.com and we will pass your request to the school.

8. Keeping and deleting data

  • Your work stays in your account when a paid plan ends or when you stop using TeachOS. We do not delete it automatically.
  • You can delete your own lesson notes, assessments and assistant conversations in the app. A school admin can remove students from their school, and can deactivate a member of staff so that they no longer see the school’s records.
  • There is no “delete my account” button yet. To have your account, or a school and its records, deleted, write to support@teachosnigeria.com from the email address on the account.
  • Some records may need to be kept after a deletion request, for example payment records for our accounts.

9. Your rights

You have rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, including the right to ask for access to the information held about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. To use any of them, write to support@teachosnigeria.com. We may need to confirm that the request really comes from you.

Many corrections you can make yourself: your name, phone number and password are in Settings.

10. How data is protected

  • You sign in with your email address and password. Choose a password you do not use anywhere else, and do not share your account.
  • The database applies access rules so that a school’s records can be read only by that school’s active staff, and a conversation only by the people in it.
  • Verification documents and message attachments are kept in private storage and opened through links that expire.
  • No online service can promise perfect security. If you think your account has been used by someone else, change your password and tell us.

11. Changes to this page

When TeachOS changes what it collects or who it shares it with, we will update this page and the date at the top.
